It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Eugene Herder of Jerseyville, Illinois, who passed away on November 25, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Herder and Martha Herder (Giberson); his son Matthew Herder; and his siblings, Joe Herder, Anita Herder, Marjorie Broyles and Mary Herder.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hartsook; his sons, Jason Herder (Emily) of Elsah and Richard Herder Jr. of Elsah; his grandchildren, Austin Herder (Amber), Jaime Lippold (Matthew), Katie Dellenbach (Jason), Mattalynne Smiley (Adam), Sierra Hoofard, Matthew Suttless and Delilah Herder; and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Alanah, Carson, Aubree, Anne, Ayven, Aaliah, Owen, Addison, Elise and Easton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Anderson Family Funeral Home (501 W Center St, Brighton, IL 62012). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
