He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William E. Chipman and Alice Acker Chipman; his wife Janet Williams Chipman; his son Timothy (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Elder, Etta and Edia of Chicago; his brother James (Sally Tamizuddin) of Springfield; and his siblings-in-law, John Williams and Mary Lee Williams. He was also cherished by his seven nephews, and many "found" family members.
Memorials are encouraged to the following institutions Bob spent his life serving: First Presbyterian Church, Illinois College, Jacksonville Area Museum Foundation, Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation, Prairieland United Way, and the YMCA-- instead of flowers.
