He was predeceased by: his parents, Irland H. "I. H." Thompson and Viola Edwards Thompson; and his sister Nancy J. Dickerson. He is survived by: his sons, Bruce Thompson (Sherrie) of Arcadia and Andy Thompson (Teresa) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Alison McGrew (Justin) of Good Hope, Sarah Moritz (Justin) of Holly Springs, Jacob Thompson of South Jacksonville, Kaitlin Houser (Drake) of Timewell and Samantha Thompson of Ashland; his siblings, Rich Thompson (Karen) of Virginia and Lenabelle Burrus (late Ronnie) of Jacksonville; and his friend Jodi Peacock. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
