The passing of Marilyn J. Sorrill of Jacksonville, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on July 12, 2024 at the age of 75. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Schroeder and Louise Meyer Schroeder; her husband Michael N. Sorrill of Paul's Lutheran Church; and her siblings, Phyllis Schroeder, Edward Schroeder, Barbara Dorsey and Darlene Schroeder.

She is survived by: her sons, Timothy Sorrill (Amanda) of Sitka, AK, Jacob Sorrill (Madeline) of Jacksonville, IL and Nathaniel Sorrill (Morgan) of Danvers, IL.; her granddaughters, Louisa Sorrill and Scout Sorrill; and her brother Byron Schroeder (Carol) of Dekalb, IL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodlawn Farm.

“My heart is breaking. For 27 years, Marilyn was my friend and neighbor. Our boys rode their bikes with poles and clubs to go fishing or golfing. I prayed when she lost her husband, she prayed when I lost my son. My grandchildren dearly loved “Miss Marilyn”. She would watch their antics in our yard and laugh. They set butterflies free they had hatched from cocoons in her back garden. We loved her. We miss her already.”
