He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Thelma Pauline Lawson (Lyles); his wife Barbara Brockhouse; his son Ronald Rowe; and his siblings, John W. Lawson, Jr. (Carole), Raymond Lawson (Wilma) and Marjorie Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda McKinney (Delbert), Cathy Boensel (Robert) and Rick Lawson (Rheanna); and his grandchildren, Shane McKinney, Amy Givens (Chris), Chad McKinney (Lisa), Cayla Keyes (Brett), Lacey Sorrill (Josh), Stephanie Brockhouse (Alex), Jessica Lawson, Brody Lawson, Alyssa Rowe, Kimberly Rowe and K. T. Rowe. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
