He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey C. Smith and Ethel Taylor Smith; and his brothers, Howard Smith, Billy Smith and Leonard Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Tyler Howren (Senta) of Seattle, WA, Andrew Howren of Naples, FL, Eric Howren of St. Louis, Melinda Kay Goodman (James) of Bloomington and Chadwick Eugene Smith of Bloomington; and his brothers, James Smith (Connie) of Jacksonville and Wayne Smith (Gail) of Quincy. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
