It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helga Hester of Iuka, Illinois, born in Dix, Illinois, who passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Frank and Elizabeth Frank (Houseman); her husband Charles C. Hester; her daughter Caroline Ratts; and her stepsons, Gene Hester and Randy Hester.
She is survived by: her son Thomas Hester (Cheryl) of Dix; her son-in-law Bob Ratts of Iuka; her grandchildren, Justin Ratts (Amie) of Alma, Jasmine Ratts of Iuka and Brandy Karcher (Kurt) of Dix; and her great grandchildren, Kaleb Ratts of Alma, Kalin Bass of Alma, Zoey Ratts of Alma, Ella and Kaitlyn Karcher of Dix. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
