He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Witzel and Martha Witzel (Rodatz); his sister Carolyn Williamson; his son Scott Witzel; and his daughter-in-law Becky Witzel.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Payne; his children, Roger Witzel of Irvington and Kathy Madsen (Marlin) of Rochelle; his grandchildren, Erin Sherill of Pecatonica, IL, Eric Witzel (Margot) of Kirkland, IL and Ian Witzel of Irvington, IL; his great grandchildren, Madison, Scott and Shawna; and his nephews, Tim, Steve, Jim and Dave Williamson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fouts Christian Church (1629 E Dix-Irvington Rd, Centralia, IL 62801). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Charles' honor to Fouts Christian Church and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
