We are sad to announce that on July 11, 2024, at the age of 74, Walter Petra of Irving, Illinois, born in Ohlman, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Walter departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Walter. Though Walter may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his mother Della Petra; his son Walter Petra Jr.; and his granddaughter Hope Petra. He is survived by: his wife Angie Allen; his children, Kassie Petra (Wade Vincent) and Brandon Petra (Mandy) of Irving; and his siblings, Ernie Cole (Lori), Bertha Elwood, Kathleen Schneider (Tim), Gladys Arbuckle (Bruce), Dovie Cutright and Lena Bain. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
