With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frederick W. Bergman Jr. of Irving, Illinois, who passed away on February 20, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick William Sr. and Marie Bergman; his wife Roberta Elaine Schneider; his daughter Loretta McCartney; his grandchild Kaci McCartney; his siblings, Dale, Carl, Harold Bergman, Lorene Devisher, Doris Weller, Arlene Bell and Meta Jane Bergman; his sons-in-law, Dennis Montgomery and Martin McCartney; his siblings-in-law, Carol Bergman and Frank Bell; and his pet Muffy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Montgomery of Decatur, IL, Luann Chappelear (David) of Hillsboro, IL and Laura Caulk (Lane) of Irving, IL; his grandchildren, Jayma Trahan, Ken Hefley (Tabitha), Joe Chappelear (Jessica), Dan Chappelear (Anne Marie), Nicole Dick (Robert), Dane Bondurant (Kayleigh), Lindsey Huston (Jay), Dalaney Smith (Jake) and Cody Caulk (Arianna); his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jacob, Gunner Hefley, Peyton, Bailey, Sawyer, Denton, Weston Chappelear, Avery, Leo Dick, Mabry Bondurant, Kanon Smith, Emalyn and Garrett Huston; his brothers, John Bergman of Palmer, IL and Kenneth Bergman of Florida; and his sister-in-law Wanda Sowarsh of Nokomis, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Hough & Sons Funeral Home (1119 School St, Hillsboro, IL 62049). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Asbury Cemetery (127 South St, Raymond, IL 62560).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Frederick Bergman's honor may be directed towards the Montgomery County Animal Control or the Irving Century House.
