He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Fischer and Lydia Fischer; and his brothers, Wilhelm Fischer, Fred Fischer (Elaine) and Robert Fischer.

He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Rick Fischer (Lisa) of McHenry, Randy Fischer (Deb) of McHenry, Ronald Fischer (Beth) of Lakemoor and Christa Fischer-Ballowe of Vernon Hills; his grandchildren, Emily Thielsen (Adam) of McHenry, Courtney Fischer (John) of Fayetteville, AK, Ryan Fischer (Kelsey) of Johnsburg, IL, Ashley Ballowe of Boston, MA, Rebecca Fischer of McHenry, Trent Ballowe of Albuquerque, NM, Sam Fischer of McHenry, Sarah Stade (Chris) of Richmond and Brian Stade (Stephanie) of Johnsburg; his great grandchildren, Anna Lynn Fischer, Molly James Fischer and Thielsen; his sisters, Betty Ann Thomas (Oscar) of Flower Mound, TX and Lydia "Toots" Thomas (Terry) of Lake Geneva, WI; and his sister-in-law Dolores Fischer.
