She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvid Herling and Loretta Herling; her husband William "Bill"; her daughter Monica Nelson; and her siblings, Joseph Herling, Lorraine Wilson, John Herling and Thomas "Babe" Herling.
She is survived by: her children, David Smith, Kathleen Scully, Loretta Frystak, Rebecca Surber, Marian Frantz, Janet Smith, Virginia Wagner and Pamela Starnes. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
