It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Bourland of Ina, Illinois, born in DuQuoin, Illinois, who passed away on October 28, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest Bourland and Faye Bourland (Fann); his wife Debbie; his close friends, Gerald "Smitty" and Janette Smith; his children, Gwen Horton, Barry Horton of Dix, Angie Nowitzke, Mike Nowitzke of Bluford, Tiffanie Heifner and Jeff Heifner of Bluford, Illinois; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wairimu, Sarah Heern, Torrie Kiel, Taylor Nowitzke, Garrett Heifner and Wyatt Heifner; and his sister Brenda Ettner Rose (Gerald "Smitty" Smith). He was also cherished by 5 great grandchildren.
