It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William Leka of Illiopolis, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on January 19, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Clara Louise Leka (Long); his former wife Shirley Rae Leka; his son Michael Ray Leka; and his siblings, Vicky Jo Leka, Bobby and Eddie Leka.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Leka; his son Marty Leka (Carol Miller); his stepchildren, Trevor Pinkley (Alyssa) and Kendra Pinkley (Thomas Crawford); and his brothers, Sammy and Jimmy Leka. He is also survived by five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tri-City FFA.
