He was predeceased by: his mother Irene Carpenter (Lawrence); his grandparents, Chester, Lola Lawrence, Don and Lillie Carpenter; and his father-in-law LaVille "Polly" Johnson.
He is survived by: his father George Carpenter; his wife Janice Carpenter; his children, Dewey Carpenter (Melissa) and Mindy Mark (Christian); his grandchildren, Alexa, Caleb, Elijah Carpenter, JT, Henley Mark, Caiden and Colin Tyler; his sisters, Terri Staley (Randy) and Lori Bausch (Tim); and his mother-in-law Joanne Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois City Fire Department or to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
