The passing of Laura Jean McGinnis of Illinois City, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on February 23, 2025 at the age of 73. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Truman and Beulah Truman (Streets); her in-laws, Norman and Leola McGinnis; and her sister-in-law Patricia McGinnis.
She is survived by: her husband Randy McGinnis; her daughters, Amy Duncan of Aledo, Abby McAlister (Andrew) of Illinois City and Ali Brooks (James) of Milan, IL; and her grandchildren, Trenton Duncan, Cael Duncan, Rylan McAlister (Kaelyn), Rydge McAlister, Wesley, Lauryn Brooks and Feruz. She is also survived by cousins and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Aledo United Methodist Church (301 N College Ave, Aledo, IL 61231).
In Muscatine, she worked at the donation gardens, opened her home to garden tours and hosted the Floral Hall Building at the Muscatine County Fair, lectured at the Art of Gardening and worked the Master Gardener booth at the Muscatine Area Farmer's Market, among many other projects.
