He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Nitz and Lottie Nitz (Bremer); his wife Mary L. Ewing; his children, John, Doug Nitz, Vickie Nickell and Rebecca Crane; and his siblings, Raymond Nitz, Anna Tuttle and Mary Schmidt.
He is survived by: his children, David Nitz (Paula), Richard Nitz, Karen Dohrn of Denver, CO and Sandy Wong (Eugene); his sons-in-law, Mike Crane and Gary Nickell; his sister Irma Terry; his close friend Chris McCalley; and his pet Frazier. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
