He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Furst and Mary Furst (Ziegenhorn); his brother Gary; his siblings-in-law, Cork Pape and Ann Holmgren; and his nephew Steve Holmgren.
He is survived by: his wife Melva Louann Holmgren Minard; his sons, Bill Minard (Cindy), Kirk Minard (Tami) and Scott Minard (Michelle); his grandchildren, Emily Spencer (Scott), Adam Minard (Melissa), Shanna Canfield (Harold), Stephanie Eads, Jae Eads (Brittany), Tasha Canfield, Shawn Minard (Lindsay), Colin Minard and Conner Minard; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Brooke Spencer, Gibson, Hendrix Minard, Reyna, Braeden Einfeldt, Joshua, Adrian, Sophia, Lilianna, Mila, Brice, Josh and Lilly Minard; his sister Deloris Pape; his siblings-in-law, Mitzi Furst and Bill Holmgren; his nieces, Kim VanKirk (Tom), Debbie Beatty (Bob), Denise Pape and Deanna Lee (Andy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dillon DeKeyrel (Erin), Dakota DeKeyrel (Megan), Sawyer, Daxton VanKirk, Serena and Hannah Lee; and also, Wyatt and Weston DeKeyrel.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois City/Buffalo Prairie Volunteer Fire Department or to his family for a fund to be established.
