Whalen of Huntley, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Whalen and Margaret Whalen; his brother John "Jack" Whalen (Dorothy); and his pet Buddy. He is survived by: his close friend Jan Keane; his children, Jeannie Joseph (Jim), Christine O'Brien (Dan) and Sandy Whalen-Smith (Michael); his grandchildren, Jimmy Joseph, Jessica Joseph, Jason Joseph (Maddy), Megan O'Brien and Joshua Joseph; and his siblings, Patricia Oleszek (Dennis), Thomas Whalen (Sheila), Robert Whalen and Mary Smith (David). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation or the Brotherhood for the Fallen if you should so choose.
