He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rettig and Maggie Rettig; his wife Elaine Rettig (Pelzer); his brother Wallace Rettig; and his siblings-in-law, Nedra Rettig (Call), Harold Schroeder, Melvin Weber and Diana Diedrich (Pelzer).
He is survived by: his children, Shane Rettig (Linsay) and Shera Pollock (Jerry); his grandchildren, Ava, Amelia, Julia and Dylan; his siblings, Joann Schroeder (Rettig) of Napoleon Ohio and Marvin Rettig (Brenda); and also Lily.
