He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Rosalie Cacciatore; his children, Matthew, Joseph and Sara Cacciatore; his sister Cathy Piwko (John); his nephews, Michael and Tommy; his significant other Sue; and his father Angelo.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Concerns of Police Survivors Illinois Chapter/ ILCOPSPO Box 304, Tampico, IL 61283 Lou served as a Police Officer for the Deerfield Police Department for 26 years beginning on March 19, 1984 and retiring effective May 5, 2010.
