He was predeceased by: his son Manfred; his grandson Josef; and his siblings, Michael Gimpel, Peter Dittrich, John Dittrich and Anna Schuller.
He is survived by: his wife Sara; his children, Joe Dittrich (Rita) and Diane Scarbro; his sister Helen Puri-Jobi; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Sara, Kyle and Luke; and his daughter-in-law Sandy. He is also survived by husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church.
