He was predeceased by: his parents, George Goebbert and Ernestine Goebbert; and his brother-in-law Eugene Lichthardt. He is survived by: his wife Esther Von Bergen; his children, Luanne Smith (Curtis), Lee Goebbert (Diane) and Lloyd Goebbert (Terry); his grandchildren, Kelly Conner (Ross), Ben Goebbert (Jen), Jessica Crass (Simon), Jacob Goebbert (Heather), James Goebbert (Brittany), John Smith (Luis) and Ryan Smith (Kaleigh); and his sister Lilah Lichthardt. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church Foundation, Immanuel Lutheran School, or to a charity of one's choice.
