He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Shanahan and Margaret Shanahan; his wife Dorothy Shanahan (Dot); and his siblings, Martin, Loretta, Buddy, Marie, Johnny, Cathy and Tommy.

He is survived by: his children, Mike Shanahan (Peggy), Debbie Trujillo (Lewis), Pam Shanahan, Joyce Shanahan, John Shanahan (Cathy) and Carrie Balisteri (Chris); his grandchildren, Kyle, Krystal, Seth, Jevhon, Mackenzie, Lauren, Mark, Kayla, Krista, Ryan, Harlan and Johnny; and his great grandchildren, Stella, Carter, Lexi, William, Ben, Conor, Jed, Theo, Ramona, Micah and Emerald. He is also survived by his 6 kids.

“worked with ED Shanahan in the 60s as a 134 electrician. I was his apprentice on many jobs,he was a patient teacher and a perfect example of how to be a good person to admire and emulate alwaws talked about his family ,with pride. proud to have known this man as one of my guiding lights .”
