Lloyd Ambriz Obituary

Lloyd Ambriz was born Dolores Ambriz on November 13, 1959 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He resided in Humboldt Park Chicago, Illinois with his parents Francisco and Santos Ambriz, along with his 11 brothers and sisters: Job, Beatriz, Ruben, Rebecca, Raul, Bacilia, Lydia, Francisco, Maria, Guilermo and Arcadio. He earned the nickname 'Chief' from his high school football team at Roberto Clemente High School, where his famous game play picture was printed in the newspaper.

Lloyd became naturalized in 1974 at the age of 15. He joined the United States Army in 1978 as a Military Policeman where he was awarded his Army Service Ribbon and Humanitarian Service Medal as an E4. Lloyd put in over 4 decades of work for United Healthcare and Delta Screw Company in Chicago. He was married for over 10 years to Lorraine Majarucon (now Lorraine Ziganto), had two children and adopted a third. He was always active with sports; he was on his work's sponsored softball team and in their bowling league for many years, and he always loved to fish. He taught his children every sport he could and went to almost all games, meets and practices. He even coached his wife's softball team. He attended festivals and concerts all over the city, and was a Karaoke LEGEND. If anyone knew Lloyd, they would say he was always with family and friends, always working hard, and always at Habetler Bowl.

Throughout their whole careers, Lloyd always rooted for and supported both his children joining the Armed Forces; his daughter became an E5 in the United States Coast Guard and his son became an E6 in the United States Army. In January of 2020, Lloyd met the one whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life with; Desiree Scully. Lloyd and Desiree's relationship was deeply rooted in love, friendship, and an undying devotion to one another. They enjoyed doing everything together and couldn't bear to be apart for too long.

There is no doubt that Lloyd holds a very special place in everyone's heart. From Roberto Clemente High School, to the United States Army, or from United Healthcare to the Screw Balls over at Delta Screw, and everyone at Habetler Bowl, even his 11 brothers and sisters and his 30 nieces and nephews:

Lloyd's loving memory is carried on by his son Eric Lloyd Ambriz, his daughter Christine Frances Ambriz, and his son-in-law Fadi Tabet.

Lloyd's military ceremony will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery located at 20953 W Hoff Road Elwood, IL 60421 on Wednesday July 14th at 2:00pm. Entire party is required to arrive 30 minutes prior to start time for entry.

Memorial service will be held on Friday July 2nd from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home 3117 South Oak Park Ave Berwyn, IL 60402.
