She was predeceased by: her parents, James H. Anderson and Martha Anderson (Carlyle); and her son Paul A. Hilgenberg. She is survived by: her spouse Paul E. Hilgenberg; her children, James Hilgenberg (Toby) and Kyla Cox (Todd Dutton); her stepchildren, John Roy, Tim Roy (Diane) and Maureen Boothby (Jim); and her grandchildren, Vesta "Vicki" Crane (Brent), Paul T. Hilgenberg (Jocelyn), Lena Hilgenberg (Josh Cummins), Mina Fairchild (Blake), Kali Monroe (Clay), Lydia Hilgenberg and Kelby Adams (Jared). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in her honor are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
