He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Cox and Gladys Johns Cox; his wife Shirley Ann Sims; his son-in-law Roger Cobb; and his brother-in-law Gerald Osborn.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Cobb of Mattoon, IL and Gene Cox (Wendy) of Mattoon, IL; his grandchildren, Chet Cobb (Megan) of Champaign, IL, Cassie King (Wes Cooley) of Mattoon, IL, Dalton Cox (Bridgett Nickles) of Cooks Mills, IL and Jesse Cox (Corine) of Cooks Mills, IL; and his great grandchildren, Cameryn Cobb of Champaign, IL, Wyatt of Cooks Mills, IL and Madeline Ann Cox of Cooks Mills, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
