He is survived by: his wife Elaine Marie Hubbard; his children, Mark Phares (Jill) of Romeoville, IL, Douglas Dean Phares (Joanne Marie) of Lacey, WA and Dawn Marie Phares of Hudson, IL; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Katie and Tyler; his great grandchild Cami; and his brothers, Bill (Ruth), Tom Phares (Deb) of Gridley, IL, Pat Phares (Martha), Mike Phares and Philippines.

The family suggests memorials be made to Cache Lake Boy Scout Camp, Canada.
