He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Thomas and Lucille Goodman Thomas; and his sisters, Doris Carr, Marilyn Dalton and Mitzie Koos (Jan Kaufman).
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Espy (Terry) of Eads, TN and Jeff Thomas (Laura) of Hudson, IL; his grandchildren, Thomas Espy, Abby Dean (Travis), Liz Espy, Anna Espy (Zach Smith), Emma Espy, Peter Espy (Chelsea Hatfield), Aidan Espy and Emory Thomas (Abby Knapp); and his great grandchild Adam Dean.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Normal, IL.
