He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Payton and Iva Phelps Payton; and his sisters, Ruby Summers and Winnie Vaughn. He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Ward; and his children, Chuck L. Payton (Deb), Terry R. Payton (Janice Yuhas) and Debbie P. Kinsella (Shannon). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hudson United Methodist Church, Hudson, IL or to St. Jude Children's, Hospital.
