With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Delora Birkey of Hopedale, Illinois, who passed away on May 14, 2021 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, C. C. Litwiller and Emma Litwiller; her sister-in-law Lona Litwiller Hopedale; and her siblings, Floyd Litwiller, Carolyn Welch and Beverly Burmeister.
She is survived by: her husband Warren L. Birkey; her children, Dave Birkey Austin (Sharon), Daryl Birkey Mackinaw (Debbie), Dale Birkey Minier (Frances) and Linda Gonder Bloomington (Rick); her grandchildren, David Birkey San Antonio, Leticia Morgan Georgetown (David), Lori Horning Delavan (Josh), Heidi Dussl Burnsville (Andrew), DinaMarie Birkey Hopedale, Levi Birkey Delavan (Hillary), Luke Birkey Hopedale (Jessica), Chase Birkey LaGrange (Valerie), Hunter Birkey Burns, Anna Birkey Minier and Amarose Birkey Minier; her sisters, Evelyn Good Geneva, Ruth Mark Goshen, LaVerne Petersen Fort (Richard) and Judy Muzzy Orlando (Gary); her brother-in-law Bruce Burmeister LaPorte; and her granddaughter Shelli. She is also survived by Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
