He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Carter and Gertrude Abigail "Abby" Carter (Colvin); his wife Betty June Carder; and his great grandchild Austin "AJ" Rhodes III. He is survived by: his children, Jo Ellen Rife (Ronald) of Bedford, IN, Vickie Elaine Means (James) of Hoopeston, IL and Wilbur Lynn Carter of Hoopeston, IL; his grandchildren, Christopher Rife (Raelynn), Amanda Rife, Denelle Carter and Mitchell Means (Geralyn); his great grandchildren, Alexis Sims (Seth), Kylie Sabillón (Christina), Jayda Rife-Smith, Colton Rife, Paige Rife, Addyson, Daley and Gracelyn Means; and his great great grandchildren, Novic Rhodes, Sydney Sims and Olivia Sims. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
