She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Carder and Mildred Carder (Smith); her sister Phyllis Estock; her great grandchild Austin "AJ" Rhodes III; her niece Billie Jean Taylor; and her nephew Mark Estock.

She is survived by: her children, Jo Ellen Rife (Ronald) of Bedford, IN, Vickie E. Means (Jimmy) of Hoopeston, IL and Wilbur Lynn Carter of Hoopeston, IL; her siblings, Nancy J. Taylor (Bill) of Columbia, IL and Paul Alan Carder (Valorie) of Lincoln, IL; her grandchildren, Christopher Rife, Amanda Rife, Denelle Carter and Mitchell Means; and her great grandchildren, Kylie Sabillón (Rife), Alexis Sims, Jayda Rife-Smith, Colton Rife, Paige Rife, Addyson, Dailey, Gracelyn Means, Novic Rhodes, Sydney and Olivia Sims. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Women of the First Church of God 1004 E. Orange St. Hoopeston, IL 60942.
