She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Smith and Violet Smith (Knerr); her husband Steven Shields; and her siblings, Jackie Melton, Mark and Mike Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Angie Johnson (Chad) of Hoopeston, IL, Ashley Roberts (Chris) of Hoopeston, IL, Steven Shields (Tara) of Hoopeston, IL and Clint Shields (Cassandra) of Danville, IL; her grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Jacob, Mackenzie, Josslyn, Maverick, Coby, Wyatt, Maddie, Hudson, Will and Owen; and her great grandchildren, Ezekial, Hadassah and Harper. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (427 E Main St, Hoopeston, IL 60942). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Janice to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
