He was predeceased by: his parents, William Silver and Emma Silver (Williams); his former wife Mona Rose Boehme; his brother Raymond; and his stepson Kevin Reynolds.

He is survived by: his wife Emma Lou Stevens; his sons, Mark Silver (Barb), Marty Silver (Cindy Casey) of Rossville, IL, Monte Silver (Peggy) of Hoopeston, IL and Marlin Silver of Peoria, IL; his stepchildren, Emma Fierens (Jim), Charlie Reynolds of Hoopeston, IL, Lindy Serban (Jerry) of Hoopeston, IL and Edna Parker (David) of Rossville, IL; his siblings, Mary Jane Robling, Martha Ann Jackson (Gary) and Dan Silver (Madge) of Hoopeston, IL; his grandchildren, Josh Silver, Jared Silver (Kelli), Jess Doeden (Ben), Jolyn Clapp (Brandon), Justin Silver (Anna), Julia Silver, Jack Silver, Jeremiah Silver (Breanne) and Jenna Leslie (Shane); his stepgrandchildren, Meaghan, Susan, Jamie Fierens, Bradley Lawson (Brittany), Daniel Lawson, Chrissy, Donnie Best, Heather Nelson, Michaela Edwards (Kyle), Lindze Parker and Jessica Serban; and his great grandchildren, Collin Hoskins, Kaylan Hines (Riley), Rex, Zak Doeden, Deegan, Miah, Drenyn Leslie, Colin and Charlotte Silver. He is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren.
