He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Jones and Vivian Jones (Hall). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Scott; his children, Debra S. Winters of Hoopeston, IL and Edward A. "Mudcat" Jones of Hoopeston, IL; his sister-in-law Phyllis Jones of Kingman, IN; and his granddaughters, Rachel Jones and Michelle Jones. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, and one great – great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or the Hoopeston American Legion Color Guard.
