It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alfred Eugene Pate of Hoopeston, Illinois, born in Mitchell, Indiana, who passed away on July 5, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Fletcher and Audrey Ella Pate (Flinn); his wife Gertrude Marie Maul; his son David; his siblings, Rose Kent, John and Donald; his grandson Ian Tuggle; and his great grandchild Pate Schultz.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Pate (Cathy) of Milford, IL, Linda Mann (Scott) of Hoopeston, IL, Betty Roach (Gene) of Rossville, IL, Gayle Pate (Cindy) of Greenville, IL and Lucy Pate of Hoopeston, IL; his sister Carol Livingston (Dale) of Hoopeston, IL; and his grandchildren, Tom Pate, Tami Harwood, Garalyn Ipock, Holly Borgers, Nikki Jones, Shawn Tuggle, Jesse Roach, Keri Darby, Jarett Roach, Travis Pate, Lindsey Roeder, Heather Pate, Donnie Inman, Jamie Gudgel, Sara Pate, Sadie Pate and Sally Swartz. He is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
