He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Truffa and Marie Truffa (Anton); his siblings, Ronald Truffa (Barbara) and Laureen Truffa (Marylynn Truffa); and his son-in-law Kevin Hartmann.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl (Reils); his children, Mary Foreman (Bob) of Homldel, NJ, John Truffa (Kim) of Frankfort, Kristen Truffa (Liam Ryan) of Cranford, NJ and Jennifer Hartmann (Darin Ambrecht) of Highlands Ranch, CO; his stepchildren, Matthew Reils (Alyssa), Brent Reils of Homewood and Allysa Reils (Pierre Robinson) of Las Vegas, NV; his friend Carlye Holstein of Homewood; his siblings, Kathleen Cowperthwait (Tom) of Castro Valley, CA, Mary Wollek (Neil) of Alsip, Louis Truffa (Kathleen) of Palos Heights and Tom Truffa of Homewood; his grandchildren, Joel, Kayla, Jake, Ellie, Amanda, Bailey, Zack, Ben, Rachel, Daniel, Julianna, Jaxson, Gavin and Isabella; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Owen and Naomi. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
