He was predeceased by: his daughter Susan M. Melanson. He is survived by: his wife Mary McDermed (Buggert); his sons, Edward W. McDermed of Homewood, IL and Paul M. McDermed; and his children-in-law, Julie McDermed of Curunna, MI and Bruce Melanson of Homewood, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
