He was predeceased by: his parents, George Alpers and Charlotte Alpers (Steele); his son William H. Alpers; his grandson Andrew Ehrich; and his sister Florence "Babe" Anderson.
He is survived by: his son David P. Alpers (Virginia "Ginger"); his stepdaughters, Amy Ehrich and Susan Lang (Jerry); his son-in-law Brad Ehrich; and his grandchildren, John Ehrich (Brittney Buckner), Joseph Ehrich (Megan), Jacob Lang, Alyssa Wojdyla, Courtney Ehrich and Chloe Ehrich.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chicago Fire Department Widows & Orphans Fund, 20 South Clark Street, Chicago IL, Honor Flight Chicago or Faith Lutheran Church Homewood would be appreciated.
