With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard S. Jakush (Homer Glen, Illinois), born in Bridgeport, Illinois, who passed away on April 11, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Jakush and Kathryn Jakush; and his sister Mary Krystek (late Robert). He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Laurie Lyons (John), Rick Jakush, Jeff Jakush and Greg Jakush (Jen); his grandchildren, Brett Lyons (Erin), Kelly Madonia-Lyons (Amy), Erinn Lyons (Patrick Owoc) and Rebecca Jakush; his great grandchild Maisie Jean Madonia-Lyons; and his niece Lisa Paige (Michael).
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Richard J Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services (12641 W 143rd St, Homer Glen, IL 60491). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Woods Church (10731 W 131st St, Orland Park, IL 60462).
