He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Ponschke and Anna Ponschke; his brother Raymond Pons (Evelyn); and his sibling-in-law Thomas Jablonski (Margaret). He is survived by: his children, Mike Ponschke (Mary), Patricia Kleidon (Lester), Robert Ponschke, Paul Ponschke (Sue Ellen) and Laura Dykema (Dave); his grandchildren, Megan Ponschke, Michelle Ponschke, Michael Ponschke (Ila Ananya), Matthew Ponschke, Marisa Ponschke, Lisa, Leo Kleidon, Michelle Kleidon, Kristin Dumoulin (Mike), Morgan Filipiak (Adam) and Aaron Dykema; his great grandchildren, Carson Paul Filipiak and Tara Mary Ponschke; his sister Claudette Koller (James); his brother-in-law Ronald Jablonski (Mary); and his significant other Rita Jablonski.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Richard J Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services (12641 W 143rd St, Homer Glen, IL 60491). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:45 AM at the St. Bernard Church (13030 W 143rd St, Homer Glen, IL 60491). A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
