He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Schaap; his sister Marjorie Verbeek (late John "Joe"); and his parents, Dick Schaap and Esther Schaap. He is survived by: his children, Paul Schaap (Lori), Ruth Dykstra (David), Jean Korthals (Rodney) and Mary Yurschak (Brent); his grandchildren, Benjamin Schaap, Hannah Middel (Colin), Matthew Schaap, Jonathan Schaap (Nadine), Mark Dykstra, Sarah Hooyer (Aaron), Scott, Brian Korthals, Nathaniel, Rebekah and Ella Yurschak; his great grandchildren, Abigail, Tyler and Caleb Middel; and his brother Richard Schaap (late Marcia).
