He is survived by: his wife Bridget "Martha"; his children, Edward Jr. Ruane (Gina), Colleen Ruane (Todd Bennett) and Thomas Ruane (Monica); his grandchildren, Edward III, Joseph, Michael Jack, Emily, Justin, Abby, Scott, Kayleigh, Aidan, Laina and Patricia; and his siblings, Patrick (Carmel), Catherine Mellen (Ron), Christine Dunne (Edward), Nora Flannery (Oliver), Thomas Ruane (Maureen), Michael Ruane (Mary), Bridget and Margaret Ryan (late James).
