He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mensing and Rose Mensing (Huelsmann); his wife Marcella "Sally" Wessel; and his siblings, Alfred Mensing (Evelyn), Dennis Mensing, Florence Beckmann (Ray) and Johanna Beckmann (Leon).
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Zumwalt (Rick) of Carlyle, Ramona Brown of O'Fallon and James Mensing (Sarah Hester) of Hoffman; his grandchildren, Joseph Gonzalez (Amanda), Melissa Gonzalez, Jeremy Zumwalt (Tiffany), Amanda Zumwalt, Shannon Zumwalt (Rebecca), Chad Zumwalt (Emily) and Cassie Watson (Dan); his great grandchildren, Riley Gonzalez, Emily Zumwalt and Everett Zumwalt; and his sister-in-law Marie Mensing.
