She was predeceased by: her spouse Roy Michael; her mother-in-law Theodore Michael; her brother Lawrence Poppel; her sister-in-law Robert Michael; and also, Olinda Michael, Reinkensmeyer Michael, Harlen and Wilma Lange.
She is survived by: her parents, Charles and Augusta; her children, Michele Hill (Dale) of Hoffman and James Michael (Connie) of Centralia; her grandchildren, Megan Michael, Zachary Michael and Orion Hill; her sisters, Margaret Barringer (Lyle) and Della Albert (Carlton); her brothers-in-law, Maryann, Bill Luetner, Wayne, Nancy Michael, Shelia, Mike Holston and Ruth Ann Poppel; and also Stuehrenberg. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Memorials in honor of Joyce are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Southern Illinois LWML Student Assistance Fund or to the charity of donor's choice and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
