He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Abernathy and Evelyn Abernathy; his grandparents, Gerhardt, Bertha Sprehe, Luther and Anna Abernathy; his parents-in-law, Norman and Lucille Knolhoff; and his brothers-in-law, Kevin Knolhoff and Dale Knolhoff.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Knolhoff; his son Michael Abernathy (Kathy); his grandson Evan of Hoffman; his daughter Teresa Haake (Denny); his granddaughters, Macey of Hoffman and Maddie (Alex Johnson) of Hoffman; his brother Lorren Abernathy (Rose Ann) of Phoenix, AZ; his sister-in-law Beth Knolhoff of Centralia; and his nieces, Tracy Abernathy of Belleville, IL and Ciera Peck (Ryan) of Hoffman, IL..
