He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin G. Bassen and Edna S. Bassen (Sheverbush); and his siblings, Harold Bassen, Wilma Terry (Hugh) and Doris Atchison (Less).

He is survived by: his siblings, Edwin Bassen of Hoffman, Roy Bassen (Jean) of Hoffman, Ray Bassen (Jackie) of Hoffman and Carol Stein (Stanley) of Hoffman.
