He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Barberini and Mary; and his sister Rose Mary Sullivan. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Lisa (Lance Gorsuch), Gina and Christopher (Kelly Barberini); and his grandchildren, Anna, Clara and George.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home (185 E Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067). A prayer was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Theresa Church (455 N Benton St, Palatine, IL 60067). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the All Saints Catholic Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
