He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Murphy and Marcella Grace Murphy; his grandson Christopher; and his son-in-law Brian Yoder. He is survived by: his wife Kathaleen Marie; his children, Erin, Brian (Alexa), Colleen, Craig (Catheryn) and Kevin Murphy (Donna); his grandchildren, Brianna, Donielle, Matthew (Brynn), Conner (Gianna), Rebecca, Kathaleen (Joey), Cameron (Kellie), Michael and Emily; and his siblings, Bernadette Stoesser, Michael Murphy (Sandra), Robert Murphy (Virginia) and Patrick Murphy (Rita). He is also survived by twenty one nieces and nephews.
Since education was so important, Ed also shared his success in the form of many donations and scholarships to schools and churches. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ed's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
